We are looking for a Resident Engineer that brings over 12 years of experience that can lead construction supervision and ensure projects delivery in line.
We are working with a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with over 35 years of industry experience, providing comprehensive architectural, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering services. The company delivers end-to-end solutions from concept design and authority approvals to tender documentation, project management, and site supervision, supported by a team of highly qualified professionals committed to quality, innovation, and client satisfaction.
What you'll be doing:
- Act as the Consultant's primary site representative and lead the supervision team.
- Manage and coordinate all site supervision activities across civil, architectural, structural, MEP, and specialist disciplines.
- Ensure that construction works are executed in accordance with contract documents, approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and applicable codes and standards.
- Direct and coordinate Inspectors, Engineers, and other supervision staff.
- Review contractor work programmes, schedules, construction methodologies, and resource plans.
- Monitor project progress against the approved programme and identify delays, risks, and potential impacts.
- Review and coordinate contractor submissions including shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, inspection and test plans, and technical documents.
- Ensure effective implementation of project quality-control and quality-assurance procedures.
- Review inspection reports, test results, non-conformance reports, technical queries, and site instructions.
- Monitor and manage the close-out of defects, observations, and non-conforming works.
- Coordinate with the Client, contractor, authorities, design consultants, specialist subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Chair or participate in progress, coordination, technical, and site meetings as required.
- Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly project reports.
- Monitor health, safety, environmental, and site-management requirements and ensure that unsafe or unacceptable practices are promptly addressed.
- Monitor testing, commissioning, snagging, handover, and project close-out activities.
- Review contractor claims, variations, extension-of-time submissions, and other contractual matters from a technical/site perspective.
- Monitor quantities and progress measurements and coordinate with the commercial team where applicable.
- Review as-built documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, warranties, test certificates, and handover documentation.
- Ensure proper project records and correspondence are maintained.
- Provide technical guidance and resolve site issues in coordination with the appropriate design and engineering teams.
- Escalate major technical, contractual, programme, quality, or safety issues to the Project Manager/Client.
- Ensure that the Consultant's contractual obligations are properly implemented throughout the project.
- Perform other duties required for successful delivery of the project.
What you need:
- Minimum 12 years of relevant engineering and construction supervision experience, including substantial experience in a Resident Engineer or equivalent senior site-management role.
- Proven experience with engineering consultancy / supervision consultant organizations.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary supervision teams.
- Experience with major building, infrastructure, hospitality, commercial, residential, or mixed-use projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, quality management, project controls, testing and commissioning, and project handover.
