Job description
We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer that brings over 10 years of experience that can lead large-scale projects.
We are working with a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with over 35 years of industry experience, providing comprehensive architectural, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering services. The company delivers end-to-end solutions from concept design and authority approvals to tender documentation, project management, and site supervision, supported by a team of highly qualified professionals committed to quality, innovation, and client satisfaction.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead and oversee electrical design and engineering for high-rise and large-scale projects, including power, lighting, ELV, and pathway/pass-way systems.
- Develop and review electrical layouts, SLDs, schematics, calculations, and technical documentation using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Perform and review load calculations, cable sizing, voltage-drop, lighting calculations, equipment selection, and energy assessments.
- Ensure compliance with international standards, local authority regulations, building codes, and client requirements.
- Lead multidisciplinary MEP coordination to ensure fully integrated and clash-free designs.
- Review and approve EWE, quantity take-offs, shop drawings, and technical submittals.
- Resolve RFIs, design changes, and site-related technical issues with practical engineering solutions.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, and quality standards.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers and draftsmen to ensure quality deliverables.
- Support testing, commissioning, project handover, BIM coordination, and energy-efficient design implementation.
What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 8+ years’ experience in electrical design for high-rise or large-scale projects.
- Strong expertise in power distribution, lighting, ELV systems, EWE, and pathway/pass-way design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, with BIM coordination experience.
- Experience in load calculations, lighting design, energy management, and equipment selection.
- Strong knowledge of international electrical standards, local codes, and authority requirements.
- Ability to coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and MEP teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with ability to guide junior engineers.
Preferred Qualifications
- LEED or BREEAM accreditation/certification with practical knowledge of sustainable building design.
- Professional experience with BIM workflows and advanced Revit applications.
- PMP certification or other recognized project management qualifications.
- Experience in energy audits, energy management, and sustainable electrical design.
- Previous experience working on GCC/Middle East projects and familiarity with regional authority requirements.
- Experience in leading electrical design teams and coordinating complex multidisciplinary projects.
